How to Play Blackjack 21 - Face up 21 - Match Play 21 - Super 21

Updated March 12th 2008

Play Blackjack 21 - Twenty One Online

Blackjack is a classic casino game of strategy that wages you against the dealer in a contest to see who can score closer to 21 points without going over. Both you and the dealer receive two cards at the beginning of the game. You get to see both of your cards, but only get to see one of the dealer’s cards. It’s up to you to make the call. Take a “Hit” and hope to get closer to 21, but not more than 21! Stand with the cards you have and hopefully that they’ll be enough to beat the dealer. Or, dare to double down for that big payout. You might even get lucky and automatically win with Blackjack!

Blackjack 21 Rules Explained:

In Blackjack, you are dealt two cards face up and the dealer is dealt two cards, one face down and one face up. The goal of Blackjack is to get closer to 21 points than the dealer without going over 21 points.

A "Blackjack" is a hand that totals 21 points with two cards. Blackjack automatically wins, unless both you and the dealer receive Blackjack, then you push. A total of 21 points with three or more cards is not considered Blackjack.

Point Values in Blackjack 21:

Cards 2 through 10 = face value
Face Cards = 10 points
Aces = 1 point or 11 points, whichever makes a better hand
Example: 6 + Ace = 7 points or 17 points

How To Play Blackjack 21:

Click chips to place a bet within table limits or click Rebet Click Deal If the Dealer's face-up card is an Ace, click Insure if you would like to buy insurance Click Hit, Stand, Double, or Split Continue to click Hit until you Stand, Double, bust, push, or until the dealer busts

Doubling - You can only “Double” once per hand in Blackjack. Splitting - You can split the first two cards dealt if they are of equal point value. When you split, you must place an additional bet that is equal to the ante. You will now have two hands. You can continue to hit for each hand, unless the split was made for a pair of Aces, in which case you can only hit once for each hand.

To Win (meet one) in Black Jack 21:

You get Blackjack.
Your hand is closer to 21 points than the dealer's hand and does not exceed 21 points.
The dealer's hand exceeds 21 points while your hand does not exceed 21 points.

How the Dealer Plays in Black Jack 21:

Dealer Hits on any total of 16 or less
Dealer Stands any total of 17 or more
Dealer Hits on any hard total of 16 or less
Dealer Stands on any hard total of 17 or more
Dealer Hits on any soft total of 17 or less
Dealer Stands on any soft total of 18 or more

Blackjack Insurance:

Insurance is an additional bet that the dealer has Blackjack. You can purchase insurance when the dealer's face-up card is an Ace. Insurance cost half the amount of the ante and pays 2:1 if the dealer has Blackjack. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, the insurance is collected by the house.

Winner: Hand: Payouts:
Dealer Blackjack None
Player Blackjack 3:2 (1st hand only)
Player Other winning hands Even
Dealer/Player tie Other hands Recoup ante

Play Face Up 21 for Real Money

FaceUp 21 offers a view of Blackjack that you won’t see anywhere else – a view of both dealer cards. Like Blackjack, the goal is to score closer to 21 than the dealer, without going over. However, in this peek-a-boo variety of Blackjack, you can double your bet on two-card hard totals of 9, 10, or 11. You even have the option to double after a split. The player wins all Blackjack ties and the dealer hits on soft 17, making this Blackjack game a sight to behold.

FaceUp 21 Explained:

In FaceUp 21, you are dealt two cards face up and the dealer is dealt two cards face up. The goal of FaceUp 21 is to get closer to 21 points than the dealer without going over 21 points.

FaceUp 21 follows many of the same rules as Blackjack and uses the hand Blackjack. A "Blackjack" is a hand that totals 21 points with two cards. Blackjack automatically wins the hand. A total of 21 points with three or more cards is not considered Blackjack.

Values:

Cards 2 through 10 = face value
Face Cards = 10 points
Aces = 1 point or 11 points, whichever makes a better hand
Example: 6 + Ace = 7 points or 17 points

How To Play FaceUp 21:

Click chips to place a bet within table limits or click Rebet Click Deal Click Hit, Stand, Double, or Split Continue to click Hit until you Stand, Double, bust, or until the dealer busts

Doubling - You can double on two-card, hard totals of 9, 10, and 11. You can double after a split. Splitting - You may split any two cards of equal value. When you split, you must place an additional bet on the new hand that is equal to your ante. You can continue to hit for each hand, unless the split was made for a pair of Aces, in which case you can only hit once for each hand. You are allowed to play up to three hands at once.

IMPORTANT - When the dealer is forced to stand on the first deal, the game automatically hits for you until you win or bust. This rule applies in FaceUp 21 because you are allowed to see both of the dealer's cards and therefore know what numbers you must beat. When the dealer is not forced to stand on the first deal, you can hit or stand.

To Win (meet one):

Your hand is closer to 21 points than the dealer's hand and does not exceed 21 points.
The dealer's hand exceeds 21 points while your hand does not exceed 21 points.
IMPORTANT - Dealer wins all ties.
